This week Rachel (from the some of the video demos) helped us answer your questions. Watch the video below for awkward moments, Rachel performing a magic trick, Rachel juggling and yep--more awkward moemnts:
There was a lot of stuff featured in this Weekly Recap, so we're going to break it down a little here to help you find what you're looking for:
The Geeky Times:
The Geeky Times is a FREE newsletter that comes in every package we send out. To get your copy all you have to do is place an order. There is a new Geeky Times every month with new product reviews, interesting articles and a game, comic, or craft. July's issue includes a very cool build-your-own shop dog illusion.
Rachel showed off her awesome juggling skills. If you want to learn to juggle or improve your juggling the kit featured above is the best way to learn. The DVD is fantastic and the balls are ideal for learning new moves in juggling.
We wanted to come up with a weekly show that would be both entertaining and informative; but most of all we wanted it to be about the things that you are interested in. That's how we developed the Weekly Update. The Q&A format, mixed with new magic, guest-stars and giveaways allows us to give you something new and exciting every week!
Next week Rachel will be on the program, so be sure to come up with some good questions for her. You can post them right here in the comments box.
Best of luck to those that go for the $25 Gift Certificate!
The best way to get notified when a new Weekly Recap is up is by subscribing to our youtube channel. In fact, that's a great way to keep up to date with what's going on at Magic Geek in general, so if you haven't done it, do it right now. There's even a nifty link to do so in the video itself.
So I decided that it had been far too long since I snapped a bald-cap on my gourd and talked in a raspy voice. That's why this episode of the Geek Report features Bob Bingpherapls. Yes he's big and sweaty, but nobody gives you the stats on a new trick quite like old Bob.
It was a lot of fun to go back to the old silliness of Magic Geek. I hope that there are a lot of new Geek Reports in our future.
Also, be sure to check out the Bloopers reel that we put together for this episode:
If there is something you want Terry Rinclnoggen and the rest of the Geek Report Staff to report on next, please let us know in the comments section below.
If you haven't already heard, my wife recently gave birth to our third child. Woo-hoo!
My job for the last couple of weeks has been to help make sure that my wife and our new baby (his name is Parker by the way) got lots of rest. As you can imagine, when you have two small children that love to sing and play the drums, this can be a challenging task.
One day I decided to come into the video studio to shoot a Geek Report and I brought my two older little-ones with me to give my wife some rest. The result? This thing:
I think they did a pretty good job. And my wife got some rest. Winning.
Incidentally, both kid LOVE the Tiny Plunger routine. They ask to see it over and over again. So I thought it would be an easy one for them to talk about in the video.
This Geek Report also features the way-awesome Guinea Pig Giveaway that we are doing this week.
Be sure to click the image above and learn how you can get your name into the running for the grand-prize of a giant Mystery Box and to be a part of the instructional DVD for my latest trick.

So, what happens when Joshua Jay hosts a collection of the best techniques and routines utilizing common props and concepts in magic hand-picked from a wide array of professional big-name magicians by Paul Harris himself? Well, I'm glad you asked. The answer is a set of three invaluable DVDs that offer new material to the experienced magician and a crash-course for those just starting out.
New DVDs on old concepts and props in magic come out all the time. While I often watch these DVDs hoping that there will be some new and/or helpful information on them, 99% of the time I finish the DVD shaking my fists into the air, asking for those 42 minutes of my life back.
That is why I was shocked--SHOCKED--to find that not only was there information on the Hand-Picked Astonishments DVDs; but there was new stuff on there that I am going to put into practice and use in my professional shows.
This is my favorite DVD of the set. It goes through forces that are as simple as the Cross-Cut Force all the way to the Classic Force.
Now, I've been doing magic for over 20 years and I almost skipped over the Cross-Cut Force section. It's such an old, over-published force that there couldn't possibly be anything new or interesting that they could have thrown at me to make me start using it again. Wrong!
There were about three concepts just in that one force that intrigued me and got me trying them out on people. This was the case with just about every force covered and the included routines were fantastic as well.
Thumb Tips: If you're an experienced magician, this DVD is more a refresher course. There were some interesting ideas brought up and the routines were interesting. The real value here is in the psychology and audience management covered in the DVD. If you own a thumb tip and don't use it or just don't know what a thumb tip is, you should get this DVD.
Invisible Deck The Invisible Deck is one of the strongest gaffed decks ever invented. This DVD covers the workings of the Invisible Deck and then goes deeper to give you the strongest routines from some of magic's top inventors. I'm not talking about different patter options, I'm talking about using the deck for a completely different kind of effect without loosing any of the strength of the original Invisible Deck routine. In fact, I'd wager to say that each of the routines covered actually makes the routine stronger than the original.
Each DVD is well-shot and the instruction from Joshua Jay is top-notch. I would recommend any of these to any magician looking to brush up their skills or get a good foundation with any of these props or concepts.

This weekend we are giving away five limited edition Moustache sets with hand-crafted leather wallets. Each set will be signed and numbered to commemorate the exclusivity of each set.
I am extremely excited and proud of the beautiful top-load wallets which are included in these sets. These came from our long-time friend Steven Soria of Make Smith Leather Goods (www.makesmith.com) Each wallet was constructed of hand-picked pieces of genuine domestic cow hides. They were then hand treated, embossed, finished with gold leafing and hand-stitched.
These slim, durable wallets are the classiest way to carry around your Moustache Set. The wallet was actually designed and sized to fit a full set of Moustache cards perfectly.
The only way to get your hands on one of these sets is to enter into the "Moustache Madness Giveaway". Place an order with coupon-code 7585 before the 29th to get your name into the drawing.
